BLUEBIRD-PROTEUS CN7 3D SCANNED

Bluebird-Proteus CN7 3D scanned with 3D laser equipment by Forte Vision. Scanning took place overnight at Beaulieu National Motor Museum and was the subject of an Octane magazine article.

A NOTE REGARDING CAR SCAN IMAGES

Forte Vision has been 3D scanning cars since 2008. The 3D scan images shown on this web page above are in point cloud as opposed to manipulated polygon data form: the raw data, with minimal if any manipulation, straight from the scanner. Some of our scans are over a decade old.

Think of our 3D scanning images as a photographer showing his photos in raw format. Raw is the base data. We scan in a 3D version of raw which is point clouds as opposed to the manipulated polygon data. Our point clouds are incredibly data rich, for example, one hundred million points as a starting point for a 3D car project is not unusual. This is a data rich point cloud. Our denser point clouds equal greater detail. The density can be adjusted during scanning. After scanning is completed we then move on to the polygon followed by the CAD phase, when a project looks amazing and comes to life.

So why not show polygon and CAD data on cars like the Bluebird-Proteus CN7 scanned by Forte Vision and look amazing here right now? Because, you need to think of a point cloud as like being the foundations of your house; the basis on which everything else depends. We, generally, show the foundations on our 3D scanning pages. The visually amazing 3D car work is shown elsewhere on the site, often through completed car projects made in the real world.

These visuals serve as proof of our work, not proof of data retention. In most cases, the data has been transferred to clients and is no longer on our system. Should you have specific requirements, don’t hesitate to inquire. Maintaining an extensive network of sources, it is rare for us to be unable to locate a car for your project.

WE WANT YOU TO SUCCEED

Seeing a project through to the end goal is our focus and we have achieved this innumerable times. It is really important to know that the 3D scan of your car project is the start and not the end. After scanning is completed then there is post-processing the data, CAD design and then manufacture of the required items.

Forte Vision deals with and oversees the whole process for a reason: we have the experience, software and hardware to complete it.

Our work for “The Dom”. Fantastic day, scanning what will be a great car.
