BESPOKE CARS

Forte Vision is not necessarily a name with which you’ll be familiar, yet for more than a decade our involvement in crafting bespoke cars has created a staggering amount of vehicles, many as the work of 3D Engineers, the name by which we were previously known . All these in a sector that, by its nature, is low volume. Whilst often featured in the motoring press in particular, historically our contributions to these labours of love have often gone unmentioned, Forte Vision and 3D Engineers thereby remaining firmly under the radar. That’s now changing: Forte Vision now stays involved for the better from start to finish. Explore a selection of our projects below, focusing on body design, showcasing both reverse-engineered and bespoke vehicles. Sometimes, we start with just a single picture, turning it into reality.

BESPOKE CARS – NAVIGATING YOUR BUILD

Creating a car involves a multifaceted process, demanding foresight regarding legislation, client requirements, budget, time, and skills. It is essential, we believe, that design should be followed by manufacture, a philosophy often contrary to the norm, especially in restoration companies. We expertly guide you through your build, offering fixed pricing, once the car brief has been agreed, for peace of mind – a unique approach in our service sector. If you harbour a unique vehicle idea, waiting to be brought to life, then connect with us. Crafting bespoke cars isn’t just a service; it’s our passion and expertise. Let Forte Vision transform your automotive dreams into reality.

CAR RESEARCH

Research for bespoke cars is often overlooked but essential. Extensive research is something Forte Vision prides itself on, for example, these four projects that involved thorough investigation:

  • Bugatti Type 35 – Research Project: A world-first, creating a complete car down to the last nut and bolt in a CAD program. Plans, sketches, 3D scans, and historical research were incorporated. Additionally, visited the now defunct Lyon racing circuit and the location of the Paris showroom.
  • The First Midas: Officially a Midas Marcos, owned and researched by us. “The First Midas website” was entirely created by us. The first Midas, after research, was actually found to be the second Midas after speaking to the designer Richard Oakes! Stuart owned the second, red, vehicle.
  • The Mystery Car: The most famous unknown car on the internet? Created the whole vehicle in CAD to prove that it could be what was theorised: a Sunbeam. Was it a Sunbeam? We will never know, but our research holds that to be a strong possibility.
  • Rapport Forte: A dream car from Stuart’s teenage years. Another car actually owned. We count some of the people that built it good friends. Rapport was a powerhouse of its day for bespoke cars. The Rapport Forte website was totally created by us and although extremely comprehensive, there is much more to add in the future.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY (IP)

Understanding Intellectual Property (IP) is essential, and Forte Vision considers it a fundamental concept. Read our full explanation here.

REGISTRATION

All vehicles crafted by Forte Vision meet the road registration requirements in the UK. While we are extremely knowledgeable in UK vehicle legislation, we advise seeking your own legal counsel if keeping your car abroad or considering export.

A crucial note: modifying separate chassis, such as shortening the wheelbase is generally not acceptable in the UK. Altering a monocoque body, for example chopping off the roof, is also generally not acceptable in the UK.
